📬 Sending
Your sender address
What email address your newsletters come from, and how Team plan accounts can use their own domain.
By default, newsletters sent through Daystage come from newsletter@daystage.com. The display name (what recipients see in their inbox) is your school name as set in Settings.
Why a shared address
Daystage sends through Resend, a professional email delivery service. Using a consistent, authenticated sending domain improves deliverability and lets Daystage monitor bounce rates and spam complaints on your behalf.
What recipients see
In most email clients, recipients see something like:
From: Lincoln Elementary via Daystage <newsletter@daystage.com>
The school name (set in your Settings) is the display name. The sending address appears if the recipient clicks to see the full From details.
Helping recipients recognize you
In your first newsletter of the year, ask parents to add newsletter@daystage.com to their contacts. This is the single most effective step to ensure future newsletters land in the Primary inbox rather than Promotions.
Custom sender domain (Team plan)
On the Team plan, organization admins can configure a custom sender domain so newsletters go out from newsletter@yourschool.eduinstead. Recipients see your school's own domain in the From address, with no "via Daystage" qualifier.
To set it up: go to Settings and scroll to Custom sender domain. Enter your domain (e.g. school.edu), then add the DNS records Daystage provides to your DNS provider. Once your IT admin adds the records, click Verify. All future sends from your organization will use the verified domain automatically.
DNS propagation typically takes a few minutes to a few hours. If verification fails, confirm the records were added exactly as shown and try again.
Can I use my personal email as the sender?
No. Daystage does not support sending from individual Gmail or Outlook addresses. If you want to share a newsletter manually, use the public web link and compose the email yourself. Daystage will not be able to track opens or clicks on manual sends.
