Add text, headings, and lists

How to write and format the main text content in your newsletter.

Text, headings, and bullet lists are the three most-used block types. Here is how each one works.

Text blocks

Click Text in the left sidebar to add a paragraph block. Click the block to place your cursor and start typing. Text blocks support basic formatting: bold and italic. Select any text to see the formatting options appear.

Heading blocks

Click Heading to add a section title. Headings render larger and bolder than body text, making long newsletters easier to scan. Use one heading per section.

Best practice: Keep headings short and descriptive. "Upcoming Dates" and "From the Principal" work better than vague headings like "Important Information."

List blocks

Click List to add a bullet list. Each line in the list block becomes a bullet point. Press Enter to add a new bullet. Press Backspace on an empty bullet to delete it.

Lists are ideal for:

  • Homework assignments
  • Supplies to bring
  • Permission slip reminders
  • Dates to remember

Editing existing blocks

Click any text block in the editor to activate it. Your cursor appears and you can type, select, delete, or paste content. Click outside the block to deactivate it.
