✏️ Writing Newsletters

Add images to your newsletter

Upload photos and graphics, add captions, and understand how images appear in email.

Images make newsletters more engaging. Daystage stores images securely and serves them in a way that loads reliably in every email client.

Uploading an image

  1. Click Image in the left sidebar.
  2. An image block appears in the editor. Click Upload inside the block.
  3. Choose a photo from your device. JPG, PNG, GIF, and WebP files are supported.
  4. The image uploads and appears immediately.

Adding a caption

Below the uploaded image, you will see a caption field. Click it and type a short description. Captions appear in a smaller, lighter font directly under the photo.

Important: Avoid embedding photos of students without parent consent. Check your school or district policy before including identifiable student photos in emails.

Image size recommendations

Newsletter emails are typically 600px wide. For crisp images, upload photos that are at least 1200px wide (2x for retina screens). Very large files (over 5 MB) may slow down loading for recipients on slow connections.

The header background

The newsletter header can have a background photo separate from the image blocks in the body. To change it, click the Style tab above the editor and select the Background tab. See Change the theme and background for more.
