Fact fluency is the math skill parents care about most and understand least. They know their kid should "know their facts." They do not know what counts as enough practice, what counts as too much, or what to do when the practice turns into a fight. "If your child counts on fingers for every fact, hesitates more than three seconds on a fact they practiced last week, or refuses to do the practice at all, email me. Those are signals, not failures." Now parents know what to watch for and what to do.
A worked example: 10 minutes with a first grader
"Last night I watched my own first grader do this. Two minutes of flashcards she likes (doubles), three minutes of playing-card war with addition, five minutes of bedtime story. The math part of the night was 10 minutes total. She got 22 correct in that window. The next morning at breakfast I asked, 'What is 6 plus 6?' She said 12 without looking up. That is fluency forming. Not from drills, from repetition without pressure." A real scene with real numbers makes parents try it.
Send it three times a year, not once

Most fluency gaps close with a quiet six weeks of nightly practice plus a small intervention at school. The earlier the conversation starts, the smaller the intervention has to be.
