Butterfly Deep Dive
Today we found that the butterfly we found in the playground became a chrysalis! We looked it up and the butterfly that our caterpillar will turn into is a Hackberry Emperor butterfly. This set off a deep dive into learning about butterflies and what is a cocoon vs. a chrysalis. We watched a video explaining the process and even how to collect and raise butterflies from the wild. We also looked up the swallowtail butterfly because several learners liked them and found that they are the state butterfly of Georgia! Rafi is considering creating and leading a launch about butterflies now!
