April is National Poetry Month, and our class has been writing, reading, and reciting poems all month long. Here's what we've been working on.
A month of poetry
Every student has written at least three poems this month, from silly rhymes to free verse about something they care about. A few students have really surprised me with what they've written.
We've been practicing reciting our poems out loud, which takes real courage, and every single student has grown so much more confident.
