MLK Day of Service

Ms. Ackerman

Dear Families,

This week we talked about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s idea that everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. Here's how our class is turning that lesson into action.

Turning a lesson into action

We read about Dr. King's life and his call to service, then talked as a class about what service looks like in our own community. Every student picked one small way they could help someone this week.

As a class, we're organizing a food drive and a park cleanup day to put the idea of service into practice together.
  • Canned food drive, now through Friday
  • Park cleanup, Saturday morning
  • Thank-you cards for school staff

Monday, Jan 19 · 9:00 AM · Riverside Park
